Yesterday we thought, well we will give the dugong watching a try, but we probably won’t see any. But we’re in the right place to spot them and we’re here anyway, so this morning, we left with the tour from this well-run nature resort. We slowly went to the best spotting site, the captain shut down the engine and Peter saw the first dugong coming up right away (later we heard, we were lucky). We watched them (because it must have been at least 2 or 3 dugongs) from the boat and went kayaking after a few minutes. I saw the mouth and its neck and heard it exhaling. One dugong came up really close and Peter saw it’s shadow. Here they say seeing a dugong brings good luck!
We certainly enjoyed the trip and wanted to stay longer at the Libong Nature Resort (maybe another time). We can recommend it to anyone. The money is well spent here.
