I had a great time helping Kahlil operate the resort on Libong Island. Its both much easier and much more difficult than it would seem and if that makes sense you’re probably ready to open your own resort. If you go to Libong, give the cats a scratch from me but don’t feed them because you will only encourage them. The only thing that I did not enjoy about my time here was leaving. There are plenty of good things to talk about.
I loved the corals and the fish. The kingfishers who would stand on the rocks near the shore and wait for an unfortunate crab, the freak fierce rain showers, British girls, that coconut brown sugar concoction, sandwiched between two palm fronds and roasted over a fire, the warm water, the phosphorescence in the water at night, the monkeys, the fresh fish, and tender calamari, the ocean breeze. Perhaps the most excellent memory I have is of heat lightening displays on the horizon at night where, for a fraction of a second, interior lightning vividly illuminates every contour of the clouds surface with all the colors of the sunset. The most precious things are often the most fleeting. Enjoy!
