I was just bouncing through the area when I discovered the Nature Resort and chao mai. I’ve been here for almost a week, the lone farang. The resort (or “nature” as the chao ley call it) has treated me very well and made me quite comfortable amidst this warm sea gypsy community. Anita is quite accommodating, friendly and informative, especially since I have her all to myself, and Bua Loy is so nice that at times it’s almost frightening (well, not really – just practice his English with him – he really wants to learn). The community here is surprisingly friendly and accepting of strange looking farang that don’t speak a lick of Thai like us … I suppose I speak for myself here but, come on, let’s face it … your’re funny looking and I bet you only know 2 or 3 phrases of Thai.
Anyway the cave, chao ley trip is definitely good stuff and Libong is interesting. Enjoy your stay, it’s a beautiful place with beautiful people!
